Bottled water received many orders from Japan

South Korea’s second largest bottled water maker said that since the beginning of March, it has exported 180,000 bottles of bottled water to Japan, an increase of more than 170% compared to the same period last year.

Mr. Cho Seong-beom – General manager of Hite-Jinro Group’s foreign business division – said: “ Our volume of bottled drinking water exports to Japan increased sharply due to the earthquake accompanied by the tsunami and leakage. radioactive leaks in this country. Once an order is received, it usually takes 2 weeks for our bottled water to arrive in Japan. But now, the Japanese side is asking us to shorten the time to only 5 days.”

The material damage caused by the recent natural disaster in Japan is considered the largest in the world, estimated at 300 billion USD. In addition, there are about 2.4 million people without access to water and 221,000 households without electricity.
